Oh, the frustration…

…of fog.

iss.pngSee, I woke up super-early this morning (5:45 AM) to see the International Space Station make its way across my morning sky.  However, when I got to the roof I realized that I couldn’t even see across my own street, much less 2.20 miles up.  It was a huge bummer.  But at least it’ll be making another pass tomorrow morning.

If you’re a space dork like me, go to this site and find out when you can see the ISS.  It’s really neat.

The fog was so thick that I couldn’t even see Minute Maid Park en route to school this morning.  Talk about sadness.

I am so tired of the crazy weather we’ve been having.  Historically, Houston winters after major hurricanes have been extremely cold.  I thought we were seeing some of that when it snowed last week (LAST WEEK!  I still can’t believe it) but I guess I was wrong.  It’s 76 now, and will range from high 30s to high 70s over the next few days.  Seriously?  I’m done with this.  When I walked outside this afternoon I couldn’t even breathe it was so humid.

Pointless Ramblings (as if the above weren’t pointless enough):
– So I finished reading The Mediator series by Meg Cabot.  I swore to myself that I would never buy any more of her books after reading Ready or Not, which may be the most disappointing and trashy book I’ve ever read (disregard the Stephanie Plum novels, please, because at least those are entertaining).  But I was screwed as soon as I opened the first book.  They’re addictive.  I read the other five over a span of three days–not kidding.
– Which brings me to my next point.  I need new suggestions for books to read until my copy of Jane’s new book shows up in February.  A girl can only read The Boyfriend League or The Rookie so many times in one week.  There just aren’t enough good baseball books for female fans out there–I’m trying to write one, but it’s hard to go to school, have a job, and write a book at the same time.  Progress is happening, just very slowly.
– I need a nap.  Exams are over and I just need a gosh dang nap.
– MLB NETWORK.  Need I say more?

  1. Jane Heller

And – shameless plug! shameless plug! – you could also try one of my novels. If you liked Janet Evanovich’s books you might like them. They’re not a series and there’s no bounty hunter, but Name Dropping and Sis Boom Bah have “funny murders” in them. If you have time, go on my web site, http://www.janeheller.com, and see if the descriptions sound interesting.

I know your frustration with the fog. The last few days down here in Corpus Christi have been quite foggy. I can deal with the cool weather. Being from the Minnesota I’m still getting use to the heat and humidity. I work at night so it’s a little more bearable.

In regards to a good book, have you read “Dugout Wisdom”? I find it ironic that the individual who wrote the book had interviewed Kirby Puckett the day before he passed away. I had my copy autographed by Gaylord Perry.
